Rotary is about much more than making donations. It is about clubs coming together to create meaningful and lasting change for families, communities, and society.
On 23 July 2026, we had the privilege of joining the meaningful service project led by Rotary Club of River Ayeyarwaddy, together with friends from the Rotary Club of Greater Yangon and fellow Rotarians. It was truly an honor to be part of this compassionate initiative.
Our contribution was dedicated to Yangon Central Women’s Hospital, helping provide resources where they are most needed. We also had the opportunity to offer encouragement and support to new mothers during one of the most important moments of their lives.
What touched us most during the visit was the extraordinary dedication, compassion, and professionalism of Myanmar’s healthcare workers.
Learning that they are able to save and care for premature babies weighing as little as 1.5 pounds through advanced neonatal care filled me with deep admiration and pride. Their unwavering commitment gives countless newborns the precious chance to live and thrive.
Inspired by their remarkable work, we also discussed a new initiative with our fellow Rotarians—to donate a ventilator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) during our next visit on 24 August, helping provide critically needed support for these tiny fighters.
The strength of one person may be limited, but when we unite, we have the power to save lives and create hope.
