The Rotary Club of Metro Yangon (RCMY) proudly launched the Kidney Health Initiative, a milestone community development project that reflects our long-term commitment to improving public health and creating sustainable impact within our communities.
For RCMY, the success of a service project is not measured by the size of an event or the grandeur of a ceremony. True success is measured by the lives we touch, the hope we restore, and the lasting difference we make for individuals and families.
One of the proudest achievements of the 2025–2026 Rotary Year was supporting the successful establishment of the Karuna Pala Dialysis Center, providing greater access to life-saving dialysis services for patients living with kidney disease.
As beautifully expressed by Venerable Dr. Khemathiri (Hla Taw Sayadaw), Patron of the Karuna Pala Kidney Foundation:
“Helping someone live for even one more day, or giving them one more morning to embrace life, is among the noblest acts of compassion.”
Inspired by the vision and compassionate leadership of Venerable Dr. Khemathiri, the Kidney Health Initiative was established with a broader purpose—not only to support treatment for those living with kidney disease, but also to promote prevention, early detection, and public awareness of kidney health.
The initiative is built on the belief that sustainable healthcare goes beyond treating illness. By encouraging healthy lifestyles, increasing community awareness, and supporting early screening, we can reduce the burden of kidney disease and improve the quality of life for future generations.
Guided by Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self,” and our commitment to “Create Lasting Impact,” the Rotary Club of Metro Yangon will continue working with healthcare professionals, community partners, donors, and volunteers to expand the reach and impact of this initiative.
Together, we aspire to build healthier communities, support families affected by kidney disease, and create a future where more lives are protected through prevention, compassion, and collaboration.
