“Golden Banyan Tree Fund” – Long-Term Support for Children with Intellectual Disabilities(18-Nov-25)

Saving mothers and children
November 28, 2025

Rotary Club of Metro Yangon (RCMY) is now proudly entering the second year of our 3-Year Community Development Plan.
One of our core commitments has been to support Special Olympics Myanmar (SO Myanmar) — an organization dedicated to empowering children and young adults with intellectual disabilities through sports.
For these young athletes, sports are more than games.
They are a pathway to:
• Showing that disability does not mean inability
• Entering and contributing to the community through sports
• Gaining practical life skills that strengthen their role in their families
• Building courage to face life without giving up
• Creating a supportive environment for families, coaches, and volunteers through community engagement
Over the past year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, RCMY has been able to walk alongside SO Myanmar—providing support, resources, encouragement, and hands-on involvement.

Children with intellectual disabilities are—
💛 exceptionally hardworking
💛 deeply affectionate and sincere
💛 brave, resilient, and strong at heart
But for them, opportunities do not appear overnight.
It takes consistent, year-round support for their emotional, physical, and social development to grow.

🌳 This is why RCMY initiated the “Golden Banyan Tree” Fundraising Program.
Through the heartfelt donations of our supporters, we successfully planted the seeds of this symbolic Banyan Tree—
a tree that represents long-term strength, protection, and life-changing support.
RCMY’s vision is not to help once,
but to create sustainable, long-term impact through the fruits that grow from this Banyan Tree Fund.
Every contribution to RCMY becomes:
🧡 courage for a child
🧡 a smile for a young athlete
🧡 hope and encouragement for a family
