📄 Members of the Rotary Club of Metro Yangon (RCMY-3350), accompanied by senior doctors from the Shan State Health Department and engineers from the Southern Shan Network, visited Aik Taung Gyi and Kaela villages in Inle region, which were severely damaged by a recent earthquake.
📦 In Aik Taung Gyi village, Nyaung Shwe Township, Nan Thae Aye Gyi village tract, the team carried out initiatives to rebuild a rural health clinic and donate educational supplies for the local school. They also held discussions with villagers about reconstructing 37 collapsed houses as part of a “Rotary Village” project to provide new homes for affected families.
🤝 Funds donated by Yangon American International School were also handed over through RCMY-3350 to support Aik Taung Gyi School and its principal. Umbrellas and food items were also distributed to the children of Aik Taung Gyi village.
✨ Afterwards, the team inspected the site for the planned Kaela Rural Health Clinic. They met with local administrators, Shan State Health Department officials, and Southern Shan engineering teams to discuss forming a supervisory committee. After having lunch in the village, the group departed for Taunggyi.
